“Desire (Soaking)” is a profound worship song by Nigerian gospel artist Kaestrings, released on May 11, 2022. This track exemplifies the “soaking” style of worship, designed to facilitate deep spiritual reflection and communion with God.
The song’s lyrics express an earnest longing for God’s presence, with lines like “Your presence is my one desire” and “I wanna hold You close to me.” These sentiments resonate with Psalm 42:1, which states, “As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God.”
Kaestrings’ soulful vocals and acoustic instrumentation create an intimate atmosphere, encouraging listeners to meditate on their relationship with God. The repetitive structure of the song aids in focusing the mind on worship, aligning with the practice of soaking prayer, where individuals rest in God’s presence.
