Renowned Nigerian gospel minister Nathaniel Bassey has graced the world with yet another Spirit-filled anthem, “Iba (Live)“, featuring the angelic voice of Dasola Akinbule. This beautiful worship song is part of his 18-track album, “The River“, released on December 12, 2024. True to his calling, Nathaniel Bassey invites believers to lift their hearts in adoration to the King of Kings.
In “Iba (Live)”, the word “Iba,” meaning “reverence” in Yoruba, becomes the heart cry of worshippers as they pour out their love and honor to God. With a deep reverence for God’s majesty, the song is a profound expression of gratitude and humility before the One who reigns forever. Drawing from Psalm 29:2, “Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness,” this song calls every listener into the sacred act of true worship.
The River album, with its carefully curated tracks, represents a flowing stream of God’s Spirit, power, and presence. Iba (Live) is a standout piece that captures the essence of worship as it should be—pure, heartfelt, and Spirit-filled. This song encourages believers to bow before the Lord in worship, echoing the words of Philippians 2:10-11: “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
As you listen to Iba (Live), allow the gentle yet powerful rhythms to carry you into a deeper intimacy with God. It is not just a song—it is a call to lay everything at His feet in worship, declaring His greatness and sovereignty. Nathaniel Bassey and Dasola Akinbule have truly given the Body of Christ a worship piece that transcends the ordinary, ushering in the extraordinary presence of God.
